New poll finds 51% in favour of Scottish independence
A new poll for YouGov has found that there is now a majority of 51% in favour of Scottish independence. It is the first time since 2015 that a YouGov poll has shown Yes in the lead.
The YouGov poll finds that the Yes campaign is picking up new voters. Over one in five (21%) of those who voted to Remain in Europe in 2016 but No to independence in 2014 are now backing Yes.
The poll comes just one day after the Scottish Parliament voted in favour of holding a second independence referendum.
The poll flies in the face of Tory claims that there is no appetite to revisit the independence question.
The day before we’re forced out of the EU, it is clearer than ever that Scotland’s future must be in Scotland’s hands.
📣 A new poll for @YouGov shows that a majority of people in Scotland now support independence.
